Industry Events and Exhibitions in Paris

25 August 2015

Discover New Trends Before they Hit the Shops this September

Home to both awe-inspiring event spaces and some of the most sought-after brands in the world, Paris can boast a full calendar of exciting industry events and exhibitions throughout the year. This September, there’ll be the chance to test out and report on this year’s sell-out Christmas toys before they even hit the shops and the opportunity to plan your dream Parisian wedding at one of the city’s most popular wedding fayres.

Jouets et Jeux Press Day

Carrousel du Louvre

9th September 2015

For the 8th year running, hundreds of the journalists and bloggers will be planning a trip to the Jouets et Jeux press day eager to find out which toys and games will be trending for Christmas 2015. The annual event will see 40 of the industry’s biggest brands and newest designers showcase their latest ranges in the grand surroundings of the Carrousel du Louvre for one day only.

Stands will offer the chance to have hands-on play experiences with robots and dolls houses, test out board and computer games and try out crafts activities. The likes of Mattel, Hasbro, Playmobil and The Walt Disney Company will be presenting their next best-sellers alongside more niche manufacturers such as outdoor toy designers Mondo and VTech, known for specialising in electronic learning toys such as its award-winning Kidizoom Smartwatch. Though the selection will keep all ages entertained for hours, organisers actively encourage visitors to bring their children along so that they can see their initial reaction to designs and a genuine interaction with products.

Known for attracting the likes of Elle, Le Monde, Yahoo, Nickelodeon and Marie Claire, this is an unmissable event for those who need to be in the know when it comes to Christmas shopping. Alongside the chance to preview new products, there’ll also be a play area offering face painting, games and treats provided by sponsor Viens Jouer à la Maison and a delicious buffet lunch to ensure visitors can dedicate the entire day to exploring. With a winter wonderland backdrop created by stylish homeware brand Maisons du Monde, Jouets et Jeux will offer an exciting and enchanting way to discover the many products destined to feature on every child’s wish list to Santa this September.

Marions-Nous Wedding Fayre

Porte de Versailles

26th-27th September 2015

For those seeking to discover new trends in an entirely different field, magazine Marions-Nous and website les Site du Mariage will be hosting a two day wedding-themed extravaganza. Boasting over 200 exhibitors, the comprehensive event will offer every bride and groom-to-be the chance to preview new designs and ideas for their dream day all under one roof. From personalised invitation designs to sun-soaked honeymoon destinations, every finer detail will be covered by the array of sought-after suppliers and brands.

Stand after stand will fill the 8,000 m² space, showcasing pearl encrusted red rose bouquets alongside canapé menus featuring smoked duck breast, foie gras and butterfly shrimp courtesy of Decourcel. Flick through portfolios by the likes of contemporary wedding photographers Angela & Estelle and admire perfect make-up artistry by Florence Lannoy. Venue ideas will include the turreted 12th century Château Saint Just and the early 20th century Château de la Tour, which sits in a lush, 12 acre park and boasts 41 guest rooms. With the chance to shop diamond encrusted rings, sample delicious cake options and try on sleek, tailored suiting, it’ll be easy to tick off the wedding to-do list in one fun-filled day.

Inspiration for the all-important wedding dress will come courtesy of both catwalk shows and exhibitors. Hand-decorated, lace trimmed designs will be on show from Les Mariées de Provence, while Sandrine from Essbee creations will be presenting her tiered tulle gowns, or for a more contemporary creation, head to the Francisco Reli stand. If the choice becomes a little overwhelming, there will also be an array of wedding planners on-hand to offer their services, and an online directory with plenty of tips to browse afterwards. With such a variety of businesses to discover, this all-encompassing event is ideal for both the newly engaged and those already in the process of planning their perfect Parisian wedding.

A visit to these two September events in Paris will offer the chance to start planning for the future today, whether it’s beginning to buy from a treat-filled Christmas list or choosing suppliers for the ultimate 2016 wedding.
