20 May 2014

Impress with skills learnt at Le Cordon Bleu's culinary demonstrations in Paris

You can't peruse Paris without passing by many of our Michelin Star establishments or browsing the windows of our boulangeries bursting with beautiful cakes. Known for our crème de la crème cuisine, we take being the host with the most very seriously and channelling into this, Le Cordon Bleu Paris are currently offering the chance to find out how top chefs create mouth-watering masterpieces, through their culinary demonstrations.

Ongoing until the 7th of June, Le Cordon Bleu Paris are serving up the opportunity to see how to create, as well as the chance to taste, a variety of dishes through demonstrations. From numerous menus of three courses offering world class cuisine, with basic up to superior levels offered, to mastering a certain technique or type of food, they offer an extensive choice. For starters, the sumptuous sounding lightly saffron mussel soup or Red mullet 'escabèche' with fennel cream, begin some of the menus available to admire. Must-have mains include Pan-fried monkfish in a sauce made with Provence flavours and heirloom vegetable purée or roast beef tenderloin in a 'mi-venaison' marinade with soy and served with macaire potatoes. All to be topped off with the most delicious sounding desserts, from the orange and chocolate tartlet with blood orange granita and hot pear soufflé served with sorbet and raspberry coulis, to the apricot and fig gratin with lavender honey.

Types of cuisine and techniques offered are precise and diverse; from bread baking with ryes and baguettes, to perfecting pastries including Croissants and Croquembouche or classes in confectionary with boiled candy and fruit jellies. Learning how to pull sugar, stir up the perfect homemade sauce or form fancy flowers out of chocolate has never looked so exciting, and for those who wish to hone in on a certain region of France most admired for their delicacies, they have it covered from Brittany to Périgord. With courses entitled food and wine pairing, cooking for friends or the most intriguing of them all, the Chef's secrets, Le Cordon Bleu Paris is sure to inspire the creative chef in us all.

Demonstrations are all translated into English and priced at €45 for one or at a discounted rate of €166 for a combination of four. Priding themselves as the guardians of French gastronomy, Le Cordon Bleu is a world renowned network known for providing the highest level of culinary and hospitality programmes, with special emphasis on preserving French culinary techniques. Just a 30 minute metro ride away from four-star service at Hotel Amarante Champs Elysées, the demonstrations take place in the Le Cordon Bleu Paris campus located on Rue Léon Delhomme, in the renowned 15th arrondissement.
