Paris Film Festival 06 - 12 June 2012

The inaugural Paris Film Festival is being launched with a bang on the Champs Elysées this year. Just a few minutes down the road from the hotel - in the Publicis building, 133, Ave des Champs-Élysées - a new breed of film festival is set to be born. Owing more to Sundance, than to Cannes, the event will be a celebration for the public, as well as being an industry event.

It is being pitched as an "Annual fete of French and American film making along the most beautiful avenue in the world."

The event looks to be showing 50 films, featuring 15 French and American films, along with the 15 films that were considered for Academy Award nominations in the Foreign Language category.

It is also rumoured that film mogul Harvey Weinstein will be awarded with a special tribute... and is set to take part in a "Master Class" during the festival.
